The Four Stage Program

Stage 1
Rebuilding the lining of the digestive tract, thereby optimizing absorption and assimilation. This critical stage utilizes herbs and nutrients that have been shown to support gastrointestinal health as well as contribute to a healthier balance of gut flora. In addition, we begin a slow detoxification utilizing a topical cream, thereby bypassing any issues your child might have with absorption through the digestive system.
Stage 2
Introduced after the GI system has had the time to heal and thereby have better absorption. A high quality whey protein concentrate begins the rebuilding process for other systems of the body, namely the immune system, muscular systems; as well as enhancing the body's detoxifying abilities. In addition, the Immunoglobins will continue to rebuild the digestive system. One should also continue the use of the probiotics (Probiotica) from Stage 1.
At this stage, it is also appropriate to introduce a topical cream to help balance out the neurological system of the children within the autism spectrum. A topical cream of GABA and L-theanine (GABA Calm) has been shown to reduce anxiety, improve relaxation, and decrease aggression.
Stage 3
Many nutritional supplements have been shown to be effective in the treatment of autistic children. Unfortunately, introduction of these supplements occurs before the body is ready. After Stage 1 and Stage 2, we are ready to begin rebuilding the body nutritionally. (We've included those nutrients that have shown the greatest promise in alleviating symptoms.)
A high quality multi-nutrient gives the child the foundation for further nutritional intervention by laying the groundwork needed for the body to function efficiently. Also, high quality fatty acids are introduced as they have been shown to improve brain function as well as a number of other bodily functions. To assure proper breakdown and absorption of food and supplements, a well-rounded digestive enzyme is also started at this stage.
Stage 4
Finally, we are ready to optimize the body by implementing complete nutritional intervention. Digestive enzymes, a multi-nutrient, and essential fatty acids will continue to be utilized as well as the addition of Vitamin D3, TMG, additional B vitamins, and a highly absorbable mult-mineral formula (with sufficient levels of magnesium and calcium) for long term stabilization and improvement of symptoms associated with autism.
A minimum of ninety (90) days at his stage is considered sufficient to measure success. Long term continuation of this stage is highly recommended to maintain proper levels of nutrients and to maximize results.
As research in this area evolves, nutrients may be added or deleted to assure an optimal approach. Parents will be updated as this occurs.
